Welcome to Newby Class!
Newby Class is a welcoming, nurturing and engaging setting for Reception and Year One children. We operate so that children are able to enjoy learning with, from and alongside each other as a whole class, as well experiencing structured time working in focus groups.
All of our children access and enjoy continuous provision through each day as we play and learn together. Our skilled and caring team support, encourage and guide children through an array of learning opportunities. Child initiated playing and learning is encouraged and extended through considered interactions and questioning to develop the confidence, knowledge and understanding of the children in our care.
Our Reception children follow the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. We join in with whole school themes. In addition to this, Newby Class also enjoy sharing their interests and much of our teaching and learning is drawn from these moments so that children find their learning as engaging and relevant as possible.
