Academy Conversion

During the last three years, the Governing Body have been in on-going and in-depth discussions about our school becoming an academy. They have held meetings with representatives from the Diocese and local authority and various trusts, including Elevate Multi Academy Trust. The governing body have more recently conducted a consultation exercise with stakeholders including parents, carers, staff and other interested parties to ascertain their opinion on converting to academy status and joining Elevate Multi Academy Trust.
Thank you to everyone who responded to the consultation and attended the drop-in sessions, we have been very impressed with your level of engagement which reflects your support and commitment to the school and the children’s future education.
At their meeting held on Wednesday 28th November 2018, the governing body carefully considered all the views which were put forward and resolved that it would be in the best interests of Marton-cum-Grafton Primary School to apply to convert to academy status and join Elevate Multi Academy Trust. Work will now be undertaken to prepare and submit an application to the Department of Education.
The next steps are for the governors to submit an application to the Department for Education which triggers the finances to fund the legal proceedings.
